From the desk of Major Applecart, L.O.M.E.°:
For your consideration, a rare corporeal example of an often neglected monster subgroup: The Imaginary Friend.
Little Margot has discovered the joyous company of her new friend Aloysius J. Hamfish III, an extremely caring and protective Imaginary Friend.
Imaginary Friends are close kin to leprechauns and faeries; Where adults regard them as pure fantasy, children know that their existence relies on belief. Once a child fully endorses an Imaginary Friend, that friend is pair-bonded for its entire life, however short that life may be. They will share everything together, including adventures, stories, and tea. Thoroughly inseparable, the Imaginary Friend derives sustenance from the ineffable substance of belief.
Sadly, Imaginary Friends have a very short lifespan. In contrast to most sprites and pixies, Imaginary Friends live for 8-10 years at most, after which they pass on to the realm of memory, returning only in dreams to comfort their companion in times of deep emotional need.
